ATSUSHI OGATA (BIO)

     Born in Japan and raised partly in the U.S., Atsushi has worked in the U.S., Europe and Japan, as a film director, screenwriter, artist, actor and comedian. Graduate of Harvard and MIT, Atsushi’s art videos have screened world-wide. His screenplays received funding in Germany and the Netherlands, and he appeared weekly as a comedian on Dutch TV. His earlier film “Eternally Yours” was selected for the New Directors/New Films at the MoMA and Lincoln Center, New York, and his theatrical feature “Cast Me If You Can” was screened on airlines, TV and streamed digitally on iTunes in North America. Atsushi has then expanded into web series with his one-man comedy video series “Yukata Cowboy” ® and its spin-offs, winning awards world-wide.

Atsushi performs stand up at the Broadway Comedy Club in NY, Comedy Chateau LA (“Best of Fest”), Burbank Comedy Fest and Tokyo Comedy Bar and produces, hosts and performs in “World Comedy In NYC” shows at Broadway.

     Atsushi’s comedy tends to be semi-autobiographical stories and observations inspired from his life of living around the world as a perpetual “outsider.”

MARKETING PLAN

 

(1)   Spreading the word online through the network of international festivals where Atsushi’s online series of “Yukata Cowboy” ® and its spin-off series have been screened and awarded – Dublin, London, Miami, Sicily, Bilbao, Korea, Montreal, Rome, Rio, Toronto, Berlin, Rotterdam, Tokyo, etc.

(2)   Reaching out to the Japanese consulate in Edinburgh and the local Japanese community and their publications

(3)   Reaching out to international student organization at the university in Edinburgh and other groups and organizations.

(4)   Dressing up as Yukata Cowboy, swinging my lasso and directly talking with passerby’s during the day and handing out flyers to raise interest in the show.

(5)   Posting daily activities on social media.

(6)   Cross promotion with other comedian colleagues from New York and elsewhere.

(7)   Cultivating core ‘fans’ and have them inform their communities and encourage them through “word of mouth” to come watch our show.

(8)   Reaching out to local cultural news outlets for possible interviews.

(9)   Encouraging the audience to spread the word further.
